If you're paying on your own, an emergency visit at our Westlake office begins with a $99 exam and X-ray. After that, you get a written price for any treatment before it begins. Call (561) 372-2189 with questions about cost or your plan. Here's exactly how pricing works.
The $99 is a minimum fee for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam (ADA code D0140) and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

How emergency dental pricing works, step by step
- The exam. A dentist examines the tooth that's bothering you. This is a problem-focused exam, not a full checkup. It's aimed at figuring out what's wrong today.
- The X-ray. We take the X-ray needed to see the tooth's root, the bone around it and anything hidden under the gum.
- The diagnosis. The dentist explains what's going on in plain words and what your options are.
- The written price. You get a written quote for each treatment option. Nothing is done until you've read it and agreed.
- Treatment, if you choose. Often it can start in the same visit. You can also take the quote home and decide later.
That order doesn't change. You won't be billed for work you didn't approve.

What the $99 covers, in plain words
The $99 is a minimum fee, which means it's the starting cost of an emergency visit for someone paying on their own. It covers two things: the limited exam focused on your problem, and the X-ray needed to diagnose that tooth.
It doesn't include treatment. A filling, extraction, root canal or crown each has its own price, which depends on the tooth and what the X-ray shows. That's why we don't quote treatment over the phone. A guess could be wrong in either direction.
The $99 applies seven days a week, during all of our hours.
Insurance we accept
We accept most PPO and HMO dental plans and Medicare Advantage dental plans. If you have one of these, the exam and X-ray are billed to your plan, and what you owe depends on your plan's coverage.
Bring your insurance card, or have your member ID handy when you call. If you're not sure whether your plan is one we take, call (561) 372-2189 and ask before you come in.
Medicaid: We don't accept Medicaid.
Paying without insurance
Plenty of people don't carry dental coverage. If that's you, you're paying the $99 for the exam and X-ray, then the written price for whatever treatment you choose.
We accept:
- Cash
- Credit and debit cards
- In-house payment plans
- Financing through Sunbit, Cherry and CareCredit
Each financing company has its own application and terms. Our front desk can walk you through the options and help you choose one that fits, before any work starts.
Why we write the price down
Pain makes decisions harder. A written price gives you something to look at calmly, compare and ask about. It also means everyone is clear on what was agreed. If the plan changes during treatment because the dentist finds something unexpected, we stop and explain, and you approve any change before we continue.
